Christmas, when it isn't so joyous

Here is a great post from a friend who served in Japan as a single for a number of years, giving her perspective of Christmas in Japan for the many single Christian women (there are more of them than single men in the church).

Spare a thought for them, as well as many around the globe for whom this isn't the most joyous season in their lives.

I looked at the cakes, and thought, "Japan REALLY needs to discover pavlova!"

Pavs may be a bit too sweet for the Japanese palate. I once taught a Japanese friend how to make Lemon Meringue Pie (using sweetened condensed milk) and she insisted on cutting the condensed milk content in half because it was too sweet. It refused to set as a consequence!
