Did you know that on Sunday Japan beat Australia in the Women's Baseball 2010 World Cup? Here's a photo of the winning team. Bet you didn't even know Australia or Japan had a women's baseball team. I didn't. Japan - gold
Australia - silver
US - bronze.
Here is the Wikipedia entry for the cup. It was held in Venezuela. No World Cup is complete without controversy. On the second day a player from Hong Kong was hit, during a game, by a stray bullet.

Blacktown is home to the stadiums for baseball and softball. It is also where the Olympics were held for those sports. So we do recognise many of the team members.
During the Olynpics there were many American familes in Blacktown. At the end of our street is a major intersection on the way to the railway station. I remember having to grab a number of Americans as they were about to step out into the steet while looking the wrong way.
So you can probably thank me that there are enough US team members left to front a game.
It is hard to cross the road in a country opposite to your own. I nearly got knocked down by a motorbike in Manila.
Um, by the way, Ken, the Sydney Olympics were a while ago now. Most of those you rescued will have retired, surely.
They are probably all commentators by now.
